It's not Thursday night yet :P
Actually, I haven't had a drink since Sunday, so I can't blame my shoddy performance on anything other than myself.- At 2/09/2006 1:52 PM cour marly said...

S'okay, we all have to endure one of those in our working lives. Read interview guides - sounds terrible but it helps give you ideas. Think of what you want to tell the interviewer - and look for openings to segue into it.

Don't say that, Tym.
You're a pretty eloquent person and I'm sure you'll do well in your next interview.
Cour Marly is right though, and I think you already know - one has to make some measure of preparations for an interview no matter how much we hate to.
Do some homework on your prospective employers; what their organization objectives are; their culture; tell them what and how you can contribute; how you'll fit right in etc etc.
It helps.
The interviews that I've bungled (well 2, actually), I realized that I didn't do shit at all in terms of preparing for the interview. Plus I remember having late night drinks just before those interviews as well so ...- At 2/09/2006 8:39 PM limegreenspyda said...
i reckon prospective employers already know what kind of person they're going to hire. with the appropriate credentials/experience, they already have a mental picture. :\
so. all that matters is whether you fit that bill - and not so much what you say on that day. it helps not to have obvious blunders, but then again, you don't strike me as one of those tongue-tied people. :)
g'luck for the rest!- At 2/10/2006 9:30 AM Abigael said...

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions :) My problem is that I know what it takes to nail an interview; I just haven't been psyching myself properly to nail them.
I suppose I'll get better with more practice ;)
