PaPi

11.30am to 2.30pm; 6 to 10.30pm (Tue-Sun)

The name "PaPi" is a combination of Pasta and Pizza, which are the heart and soul of this restaurant along the reinvented Mohamed Sultan Road shophouses.

This casual place features a skylight, floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of mirrors and strategically placed plants.

All the breads, pastas and pizzas are homemade, with Chef Salvatore Catalano working in full view at an open counter in the centre of the restaurant.

Appetisers include breaded calamari rings and mozzarella with tomato and basil. Try the finely sliced roasted veal, served with a tuna and caper sauce.

For main courses, the wide variety of choices include a selection of pastas and pizzas, with popular favourites being the tagliolini with shrimp in a shrimp bisque sauce and "Infuriata" pizza with salami.

For meat-lovers, go for the braised lamb shank with rosemary, a generous portion simmered until the flavourful meat practically falls off the bone.

Enjoy a full meal for about SGD40-50, and a three-course weekday set lunch costs SGD18.
