September vacation update

This isn't a vacation vacation like the last time, but a break-from-school vacation.

No. of exam scripts I want to finish grading by Monday, 12 September: 4 classes' worth.
No. of exam scripts I've finished as of right now: 1½ (ack!).

No. of leads I'd planned to follow up on after 1 September: 3.
No. of leads I've followed up on as of right now: 4 (yay me!).

Amount of money I'd planned to spend this week before payday (Monday, 12 September): Not that much, so I could offset the cost of the real vacation.
Amount of money I've spent this week as of right now: Oh boy. Let's just say that there is going to be no offsetting of the vacation, and it's possible that savings may be dipped into to offset the regular monthly expenditure.

No. of mornings I wanted to sleep in: All 9 of them, of course!
No. of mornings I've managed to sleep in: 4 out of 6 so far ain't bad, I s'pose.

No. of pimples I'd planned to cultivate: Zero, duh.
No. of pimples I have right now: Only one, but it's right in the middle of my face!

Can't really see the "no. of scripts graded" it's in symbols. Is it in Chinese?

I believe it's one-and-a-half.

The missus steadfastly refuses to cut and paste the proper symbols from Text Editor (which does it pretty well) and instead relies on special text keys meant for the PC.

Well, now I've used your Text Editor method, and I get an extra  (upper-case A with a caret, in case it can't be read here either) in front of the ½ (half) symbol. Next solution?

And there's still the strange situation where the Chinese characters in this post are visible to some browsers/platforms, but all I see is gibberish if I use the very browser/platform that was used to type that post!

Yes, that's when you go back to the Blogger edit post page and delete the A with that accent.

can use the Mac "insert special character" method? it's tedious, but it works for the chinese characters :>

I've done what Terz said, and the blasted  continues to mysteriously intrude before both ½ characters (the one in the original post and the one in my comment above). Curses!

ampulets --- Do you mean "insert special character" when I'm in TextEdit to insert Chinese characters? Will try it next time. It's just puzzling that keying the Chinese characters directly into Blogger works okay because other people can read the characters just fine on their browsers; it's just me, the person doing the keying in, that gets gibberish on the post itself.

I think ampulets means using the character palette function to insert: like so

½
